Doki doki literature club mods list3/19/2023 Forgiven, but Not Forgotten: In the Good Ending, the cast opt to forgive Monika for her misdeeds and all share a group hug.until Sayori kicks him for tickling her while she's underwater. Friendly Tickle Torture: Sayori and the main character enact this on each other at the beach.Eye Catch: Some scene transitions feature a red bow turning into a purple book, then turning into a pink cupcake, then turning into a green musical note, before turning into a red bow again.Driven to Suicide: Ironically, Monika ends up trying to kill herself. And just like Sayori, she also leaves one last poem as a suicide note. In this mod, it's actually Monika the one who ends up trying to kill herself. Dramatic Irony: In the original game, Monika dials up Sayori's depression to the point she ends up killing herself. When everything she tries fails, she's Driven to Suicide. This being DDLC, and Monika being Monika, she doesn't like this one bit, and tries her hardest to escape this trope. Demoted to Extra: Not only does this game pushes Sayori front and center, it removes Monika from the game for a very large chunk of the story that she has to spend in a hospital room after a car accident.Childhood Friend Romance: Sayori and the main character become boyfriend and girlfriend. Beach Episode: Sayori and the main character go to the beach and play around until a storm brews. There’s plenty of sweet, touching, funny, sad, and horrific moments, and the heavy topics are handled about as well as you can hope for. If you don’t notice the music, that’s a good thing! The writing of course as you can guess is great as well. However, some are bad ending exclusive which again, adds replay value. The art genuinely looks really good, and you can unlock the CG’s to view later. On a side note I love that there’s a sense of difficulty progression if you start with Sayori’s route, which is the most straightforward, then do Yuri’s route, which starts adding bits of horror and the aforementioned “bait and switch”, then Natsuki with the most endings with more difficult choices.Īrt, Soundtrack, and Writing: So Blue Skies kills it here. Meanwhile in Sayori’s route the um, PG-13 scene is treated as a sweet conclusion to the story, but in Yuri’s route the reveal that Yuri wasn’t comfortable at all and forced herself to engage in the action because she felt she had too drastically changes how her PG-13 scene is viewed. Just because MC’s mom is a great character who gives helpful advice, doesn’t always mean it’s the right path, as it’s shown in Natsuki’s route where if you listen to your mother and give some money to Natsuki, you’re guaranteed a bad ending. Twists and Turns: We’ll get into the writing pretty quick here, but I gotta give praise to the different “bait and switch” situations that come up. Sakurai is MC’s teacher and although he doesn’t have as big of a role or provides a ton of insight, his character is still a fun one and still serves as an adult figure MC can turn too which is refreshing to see. She has her own sprite and her role as the rock who gives helpful advice is perfect. MC’s mother makes several actual appearances and she’s by far the best “new” character. Mama MC and Sakurai: This mod introduces four new characters that help flesh out the DDLC world outside of everyone in the Literature Club. This obviously encourages replay value, which for a mod is always pretty cool to see! Natsuki though has five endings and it’s not as obvious which choice is the correct one unlike for the Sayori and Yuri routes. They live or they die, as you would expect from these kind of mods. Multiple Endings: Sayori and Yuri only really have two endings. I’m a fast reader, and my total playtime without getting all the bad endings was a whopping 15 hours! I’ve paid money for games that have given me less content than Blue Skies. Three main routes, multiple endings for each one, three total acts. Is it though?īang for your Buck: This mod is HUGE. It's fiiine though! Blue Skies is an older mod, and it's been called one of the best. “I’m a goddamn onion MC, you should know that”
